Lauren Devine, J.D.

Lauren Devine, J.D. recently graduated with honors from the University of Dayton School of Law with dual concentrations in Human & Civil Rights and Business & Compliance Law. She received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, graduating magna cum laude and with Renee Crown Honors. During her tenure at law school, Lauren was the Founder and President of Ohio’s first chapter of the Cannabis Law Society and served on the University of Dayton’s Law Review as a Staff Writer and the Outside Articles Editor.  Publication of her award-winning Law Review Comment, The Ethics and Economics of Social Equity in the Cannabis Industry: Making a “Compelling” Case for Constitutional, Impactful, and Sustainable Inclusivity Programs in Ohio and Beyond, is scheduled for publication in the Spring 2022 issue. Lauren is also a contributing author to the forthcoming Cannabis Law treatise on the topic of social equity in cannabis.

A Massachusetts native, Lauren has been entrenched in the cannabis industry since 2016 and moved to Colorado in 2017. She is the co-author of Breaking the Grass ceiling: Women, Weed & Business, and has supported cannabis business clients across the country as a consultant with her company, LMDS Consulting. With a knack for navigating regulatory language and integrating each client’s unique operations with applicable legal requirements, Lauren specializes in application strategy, business development, startup, and compliance. Currently, Lauren works with RZA Legal as a law clerk pending admission to the Colorado and Massachusetts bars.
